THE LATE SHOW
Remember to tune into CBS tonight at 11:30pm EST to watch The Strokes performing on The Late Show With David Letterman. Watch it if you can!!!

HARD TO EXPLAIN US RELEASE DATE
It has been confirmed that Hard To Explain will be released in the US on April 30th 2002. The CD will include Hard To Explain, New York City Cops, Take It Or Leave It (Live) & Hard To Explain (Live). There will also be a limited edition clear vinyl 7" available featuring Hard To Explain and New York City Cops.

2ND CONAN O'BRIEN SHOW
The Strokes are scheduled for their second appearance on Late Night with Conan O'Brien on May 17th 2002. This is a new performance, not a repeat.

LAST NITE VIDEO NOMINATED FOR AWARD
Roman Coppola's video for Last Nite has been nominated for Best Rock Video in the 2002 MVPA awards. Other videos nominated in this category are Boy Hits Car - Man Without Skin; Mick Jagger - God Gave Me Everything I Want; Mushroom Head - Solitaire Unraveling; P.O.D. - Alive. SPIDERMAN
The Strokes are to feature on the soundtrack to the forthcoming Spiderman movie. The track When It Started will be included alongside songs by The Hives, Jerry Cantrell, Peter Yorn, Aerosmith, Sum 41 and more. The soundtrack is due for released on April 30th in the US and May 5th elsewhere.

LIMITED EDITION EP TO BE RELEASED
The Strokes are releasing a limited edition EP only in Ireland on April 5th according to mcd.ie. Only 1,000 copies of the Hard To Explain EP will be pressed. It will contain Hard To Explain, The Modern Age, Last Nite, When It Started and a live version of Take It Or Leave It. The EP will be available from selected shops nationwide upon release.

NEW SINGLE
The new singles for the US, Europe and Japan have been confirmed. In the US it will be Hard To Explain, with New York City Cops and an unconfirmed live track as the B-side. It is due for release in mid-April and plans for a video are being prepared at this time, In Europe and Japan the next single will be The Modern Age; no news of what will be on the B-side, but it will be supported by a video taken from the Los Angeles show on February 2nd 2002. Start requesting these singles on you radio stations NOW!

TOUR NEWS
There are no plans for a spring/summer tour at this time. The Strokes are pretty exhausted and need some time off to recuperate and write and rehearse new material. If any further dates are announced you will be sure to find them at thestrokes.org. For all the forthcoming confirmed dates please check the Tour page of this site.

The final details of the fan club are still being worked out, so please be patient if you sent off for more information, you should hear something soon. The Strokes will be playing at Scotland's T In The Park festival again this year. The article also states that Oasis will be headlining. These details have yet to be confirmed by the event's organisers, but an announcement is expected later today. UPDATE - The Strokes were not amongst the artists confirmed today, but as soon as we hear anything definite we will of course let you know.

SAN DIEGO SHOW
It has been confirmed that there will be a new San Diego show to make it up to the people who didn't get to see The Strokes at their best last time. Although no date has yet been confirmed it is likely to take place in the last week of April. Once full details are announced you will of course be able to find out here.

2002 - THE YEAR OF ....................
2001 was undoubtedly the year of The Strokes, but there are loads of other great bands out there, so the question we are now asking is whose year will 2002 be? The Strokes are not on the list of options as it might be seen as being a little biased, but you can choose from Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (BRMC), The Hives, The Soundtrack Of Our Lives (TSOOL), The Cooper Temple Clause (TCTC), The Coral and a whole lot more. THE NME CARLING AWARDS
Congratulations are again due to The Strokes after they picked up three NME Carling Music Awards tonight. The band won the Band Of The Year, Album Of The Year and Best New Act categories.


THE STROKES TO PLAY THE COACHELLA FESTIVAL
Billboard.com has confirmed that The Strokes will be playing at the 3rd Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, to be held April 27-28 in Indio, California. Other bands confirmed include Oasis, Prodigy, Foo Fighters, BRMC, QOTSA, International Noise Conspiracy and The Vines.
